UK Implantology Year Course - current cases

Training & Education

This page allows you to follow a small selection of the cases that our delegates are treating on the course. The page will be updated regulary with new cases, so please keep visiting!

CASE 1 - LL5 implant with pre-op CBCT planning

Year Course delegate, Andrew, places an implant into LL5. This video includes the pre-op CBCT planning.

CASE 2 - UR1 implant with Palacci flap

Year Course delegate, Mani, places an implant into UR1. A Palacci papilla regeneration flap is prepared and the soft tissue closed with atraumatic papilla compression sutures.

CASE 3 - UR1 implant

Course delegate, Ciro, places his second implant on the course. He uses an envelope flap without any relieving incisions and a pedicle preserving suture technique.

CASE 4 - Mrs E.C. UL1 IMPLANT WITH HIGH SMILE LINE

This course delegate's patient lost her UL1 a year ago. She has been wearing a partial denture and now would prefer an implant. She wishes to be treated by the delegate, who is under training on the UK Implantology Year Course. She has a high lip line, which makes accurate positioning of the implant critical. The case was planned as a class exercise in September 2014 using NobelClinician software, following a full clinical examination and a CBCT scan. The video of the surgery, which took place in November 2014, can be seen below.

CASE 5 - FLAPLESS IMPLANT SURGERY IN LR4/5 REGION

This course delegate is placing implants into LR4/5 using a flapless guided method. This is the second case that he has treated on the course so far.

CASE 6 - Bio-Oss ridge augmentation

This patient's UL2 alveolar ridge was too narrow to support an implant. The ridge is undergoing a guided bone regeneration procedure (GBR) using Bio-Oss and a Bio-Guide membrane. Once the bone has successfully regenerated (this usually takes around 6 months) the delegate will place the implant. The video of the implant placement will appear on this page when the surgery is carried out.

CASE 7 - SOCKET PRESERVATION SURGERY

This patient did not have sufficient bone apical to the UR1 socket to support an immediate implant. The UR1 was removed atraumatically using Piezosurgery and a socket preservation procedure carried out with Bio-Oss and Mucograft Seal.
